An Excursion up to South Park to enjoy the history of Colorado’s Railroad and Mining past.
This year is Colorado's 150th anniversary and South Park City plans a shindig for their annual Living History Days. DVSS is excited to join the celebration. We'll have more details when the date gets closer.
South Park City is an open air museum focused on the years 1860-1900. Collecting the material culture of South Park following the mining era, the museum features some of the best examples of every-day life in the frontier Victorian Era. You'll find everything from buggies to buttons at South Park City. The museum is in Fairplay, less than two hours from the Denver area or Colorado Springs.
The museum doesn't allow outside food, but they do sell hot dogs and a selection of ginger beer and birch beer during this event. We can also plan to go off-site for dinner.
A note about the times - the museum’s hours are 9:00 am to 7:00 pm in August - DVSS members won’t likely be there during all hours.
